Using the rudder pedals, the rudder is activated and while on ground, the nose wheel, as long as the NWS switch (missile step switch on the SSC)) is activated. When the nose wheel steering is activated, the NWS indexer light on the right indexer at the HUD will glow. By pressing the tips of the pedals on ground, the corresponding wheel-brake is applied. The pedal adjust handle allows the desired pedal positioning.
